Who Am I?

I am Ashley Sarah McCormick. "Ashley" means "restful spirit" and "Sarah" means "God's princess".

I was born and raised in Southern California for eight years. I then moved to Northern California for eight more years.

There I was hurt a lot emotionally. I was depressed without realizing it. I knew only what i desired most: for God to bring me back to Southern California. Soon, He did. My life changed drastically.

I moved to Fountain Valley and went to Brethren Christian School. There I found love and friendship that I had never really seen before. I found myself truly happy for the first time since I lived here before.

Now I am at APU and I am still as happy as can be. These last two and a half have been the best years of my life.

Now that I've explained that, I can tell you more about who I am.

I love Japan and Anime. My favorite animes are Fullmoon O Sagashite, Yu Yu Hakusho, Tokyo Mew Mew, Pretear, Card Captor Sakura, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, Bokura Ga Ita, Lucky Star, Kare Kano, Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch.

I love to draw and read manga ("random pictures"-i.e.- comics). My favorite artist is Arina Tanemura and my favorite mangas are Full Moon O Sagashite (better as manga), Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, ShinShin Doumei Kurosu.

I love Wicked the musical and book. I love Elphie, the main character, because I can relate to her love for Animals and because I know what it feels like to have people look at you and run away.

That's right, run away. I have this skin condition called amyopathic dermatomyositis, which causes red bumps on my hands, elbows, arms, and face. People don't ask if it is contagious, the just run because they don't understand. It's not contagious because it is my immune system attacking itself. It doesn't hurt me, except emotionally.

Anyway, I love Disney and I love music. My favorite music is japanese music and Wicked. I love the band Changin' My Life, because it really did change my life. Because of the song Smile, I have made it my priority to be happy in any circumstance no matter what. Happiness is too precious to be wasted.

And so, I part with my motto, "Egao Wasuranai Yo".
